Hänsel & Gretel Final Dress Rehearsal
Follow the trail of breadcrumbs to Opera Colorado’s production of the beloved fairytale Hänsel and Gretel! This is your chance to see one of Opera Colorado’s touring productions before we take it on the road! Get tickets to our Final Dress Rehearsal of Hänsel and Gretel to see a true opera classic, featuring Melanie as Hänsel. Sung in English and abridged to just an hour long, this family-friendly event is also a great opportunity to dip your toes into opera for the first time. Deck the Halls: a Holiday Shindig!
As one of the Applewood Valley Church choral scholars, Melanie will join her colleagues in an evening of holiday celebration including musical entertainment, charcuterie boards, endless desserts, a live auction to benefit giving, and more!

As the first place winner of Art Song Colorado’s 2024 Competition, Melanie will explore storytelling through art song in a modern idiom in this hour-long recital in collaboration with Art Song Colorado at the Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church in Denver.

La fille du régiment
Melanie will sing the Marquise of Berkenfield in an abridged performance of La fille du régiment that will feature content appropriate for student audiences. The Student Matinee performance features the 2024-25 Opera Colorado Artists in Residence and the Opera Colorado Orchestra and Chorus.

The Barber of Seville Final Dress Rehearsal
Join the Opera Colorado Artists in Residence for the final dress rehearsal of the touring production of The Barber of Seville. This abridged, hour-long performance is sure to delight audiences of all ages with its mix of romance and comedy.
Be the first to experience this hilarious story before it travels around the state. This family-friendly event is perfect for an evening out, lasting only an hour, sung in English, and featuring a Q&A with the artists after the performance. Melanie will sing the role of Rosina.
Artist in Residence Showcase
The Opera Colorado Artists in Residence are at the core of OC’s education and community performances and are featured on the mainstage at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. This showcase is your opportunity to hear these incredible artists, featuring Melanie, in her second-year premiere before seeing her on stage or out in the community this season!

Lunch + a Song Recital
Alongside pianist Shelby Rhoades, Melanie will sing a French-Cabaret style recital accompanied by lunch to whet your opera appetite at the historic Teller House.

Street Scene
Taking place over two hot summer days in New York City, Kurt Weill’s two-act American opera delves into the lives of the multi-ethnic residents of a tenement building, showcasing their hopes, dreams, and struggles. Street Scene offers a commentary on the challenges faced by immigrants, the impact of poverty, and the complexities of love and relationships in a densely populated urban environment. Melanie will sing the role of second Nursemaid.

The Pirates of Penzance
Set against the backdrop of Cornwall’s coastline, The Pirates of Penzance is a comedic operetta that revolves around a young man mistakenly apprenticed to a band of pirates due to a communication mix-up. Enjoy unexpected twists and a heartwarming resolution that touches on loyalty, duty, and societal expectations. Melanie will sing the role of Edith.

Join Opera Colorado as we take over Nocturne Jazz & Supper Club, the beloved Denver hotspot, for an evening featuring an exquisite multi-course dinner with wine pairings and an intimate performance of cabaret and more by the Opera Colorado Artists in Residence.

Don Giovanni
Be seduced by Mozart’s classic masterpiece, Don Giovanni, a tale about a incorrigible flirt who cares for nothing but fulfilling his own desires. This opera will sweep you away with its fine balance of comedy and tragedy. Will Don Giovanni stop playing fast and loose, or will he follow his passion to a fiery demise?
This operatic masterpiece has been adapted for a length that is perfect for students. The abridged Student Matinee performance is approximately 120 minutes and features content appropriate for student audiences.

Artist in Residence Showcase
The Opera Colorado Artists in Residence are at the core of OC’s education and community performances and featured on the mainstage at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. This showcase is your opportunity to hear these artists, including Melanie, in their first public performance before seeing them on stage for Don Giovanni this fall.

Romeo and Juliet
Melanie will sing the role of Stéphano with Central City Opera for the Nina Odescalchi Kelly Emerging Artists Matinee. All ticket + performance details can be found here.
Romance and tragedy come together in one operatic masterpiece, Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare’s famous love story told through the romantic melodies of Charles Gounod. Determined to be together, Romeo and Juliet find themselves caught between the rival families of their respective houses. The Montagues and Capulets are forced to reconcile their ongoing feud when the two lovestruck teenagers meet a tragic end.

Otello
Melanie will sing in the ensemble of all six limited engagement performances of Othello on the Central City Opera House stage. All ticket + performance details can be found here.
In Gioachino Rossini’s exquisite masterpiece Othello, the complex relationship formed by Othello and Desdemona is challenged and interfered with by the world around them which leads to jealousy, manipulation, vengeance, and self-destruction.

Kiss Me, Kate
Melanie will sing in the ensemble of Cole Porter’s Kiss Me, Kate with Central City Opera throughout their July 1st - August 5th run. All ticket + performance details can be found here.
Sophisticated, romantic and delightfully hilarious, Kiss Me, Kate boasts a sparkling Cole Porter score. Passions run high as leading lady Lilli Vanessi and her ex-husband, actor/director Fred Graham, battle onstage and off in a production of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew. With romance, comedy, sophistication, and behind-the-scenes highjinks, Kiss Me, Kate combines the irreverent humor of four brilliant writers: Sam and Bella Spewack, Cole Porter and William Shakespeare.
The Female Gaze
"The Female Gaze" is a recital celebrating women and their perspectives, featuring all works written by and performed by women.
This recital will commemorate the first official year of Mindy Holthe’s master's program! Performers include Mindy Holthe (Horne), Melanie Dubil (mezzo-soprano), Cierra Cassano (voice), Diana Borshcheva (piano)

Singing The Queen of the Fairies, Melanie will be returning to her alma mater performing with TŌN Associate Conductor James Bagwell and soloists from the Bard Conservatory Graduate Vocal Arts Program in a concert performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s fairyland fantasy Iolanthe, which The New York Times called “a madcap Victorian fairytale, rife with merriment!”
